Roanoke City Republicans Elect New Chairman

Roanoke, VA - April 15, 2011 - Last night at a well attended regularly scheduled meeting of the Roanoke City Republican Committee, the Committee elected Chris Walters as chairman to fill the remaining term of former chair, Jim Delong. This term is set to expire in May of 2012. Chris has been an active member of the committee for 5 years serving most recently as the Vice Chairman. Chairman Walters ran on a platform of engaging the vast number of citizens who stay home on election day, increasing the size of the committee and leveraging the strengths of core conservative ideals. "The goal of my chairmanship is to harness the voice and sentiment of the countless citizens of our community who are tired of the status quo, ambivalent to business as usual and are starving for common sense leadership you cannot purchase or achieve with consultants or studies."
