As some of you may have heard, the Democrats, after weeks of trying, found someone at the last second to run against Morgan Griffith. I respect anyone who is willing to participate in the process and I look forward to the race ahead. Frankly, I'm thrilled she's in the race because, much like Sam Rasoul, she gives us a reason to redouble our efforts and remind everyone what a great Delegate Morgan Griffith has been for the people of the 8th District.
Of course, since no one has heard of Ms. Weisz, I thought I'd do some quick Googling and see what I can find.
It appears she owns and runs a "holistic alternative medical clinic", Bridge to Wellness. She apparently practices a form of alternative medicine called Reiki and has reached the level of Reiki Master.
I know nothing about Reiki but a quick search shows that Reiki is a method of "healing" whereby practitioners, like Ms. Weisz, transfer energy to their "patients" using their palms. I put some of those words in quotes because one of the most thorough scientific studies of Reiki was unable to show it had any value. Since Ms. Weisz has mentioned health care as one of the reason she's running, I look forward to more discussion of Reiki.

As I said above, we welcome Ms. Weisz to the race and commend her for taking up this challenge. I encourage everyone to learn as much about Ms. Weisz as possible. The next few months will be very fun.

Kinda mean post man. I mean, it was funny as hell, but a little harsh. No one has a chance against Morgan, least of all this lady, so maybe we should focus on how great Morgan is and not make fun of her. It takes a lot to run for office. Gotta respect that at least, if not Reiki (I just learned what it was too).

We allow anonymous commenters because we believe in political free speech as anticipated and practiced by our Founding Fathers. We recognize that with that freedom comes a price and sometimes that price is unkind things said by anonymous commenters. We don't change our policy when those anonymous commenters are attacking us and I see no reason why we'd change it now. It's all part of the political discourse and I believe all comments, even stupid anonymous ones, add to our knowledge and understanding.
If you want to know who is writing the anonymous posts - just ask Ginny.
She can use her Reiki Master powers to read the minds of the anonymous posters and then determine who is writing these mean anonymous posts.
Then, she can destroy us with her Reiki sword.

Perhaps it would be more palatable to Ms. Weisz's supporters (who are not embarrassed by her but consider a discussion of what she does embarrassing) if you just stated the following about her:
"Ms. Weisz exists. She has a job. She does things. She says stuff."
Sure she exists. Sure she has a job. Sure, she does stuff. That's cool, I can respect it.
But it doesn't make her qualified to be a delegate.
Ginny needs to "post' her resume, It seems everyone wants to know, a lot more about who she really is...
That is a good thing, people who decide to run for a public office, will not be able to wear their hearts on their sleeves...its a hard core world out there...and politics is brutal, even on a local level...rumors and tales run rampant...so tell us who you are, Ms. Weisz??
Can you tell us what does make one qualified to be a "Delegate", or councilperson, or Board of Supervisor member??
i think, all of the above needs to bea person qualified in a variety of areas, from finance to reading contracts, ( and understanding them), and to be able to communicate to the Public what is going on that does affect them and thier locality.
